Baldur’s Gate 3 presents an intricate storyline with intense character arcs. The characters have varying personalities that deepen the story, making for some of the most significant moments of the game. The players can make choices that can take the storyline in different directions.
This holds especially true for the burning romances in the story. The sensational Githyanki soldier, Lae'zel, is a desirable romantic interest among players. Here is a romance guide to help players kindle their romance with her and add a speck of love to the game.
Romance Guide to Lae'zel
Before making a decision to initiate a romance with Lae'zel, it is important for players to understand that she is a little different from your other companions in Baldur’s Gate 3. While the protagonist of the game generally controls everything, Lae'zel, with her dominating personality, can lead you to make difficult decisions and choices.
However, it's important to note that her assertiveness shouldn't be mistaken for mere bossiness. As the narrative unfolds, players have the opportunity to uncover a hidden layer beneath her stern and unwavering demeanor—a deep-seated passion for love.
To easily embark on a Romance with Lae'zel , players need to make dialogue choices that earn Lae'zel’s approval in multiple encounters with NPCs (non player characters). Eventually, you will get to a high enough approval rating that will unlock romance options with the Githyanki Fighter. There are too many encounters and dialogue choices to give you a comprehensive guide of each to win approval with Lae'zel. So here’s a few actions you may need to choose to win her approval:
Teach Guex, the practicing Tiefling in the Druid Grove, how to fight.
Use ‘Speak with Animals’ and intimidate the bird in the center of the Druid Grove
Inform Zevlor that your group is too busy to assist at the Druid Grove.
Crush the Tadpole outside of the Druid Grove
Decline the Cambion’s offer to remove the Tadpole
Opt to resist dream sequences
Making pro-Gith statements
To avoid her disapproval, do not support Shadowheart in anything since the Githyanki Fighter hates the former.
How to initiate a romantic scene with Lae'zel
To initiate a romantic scene with Lae'zel, players need to complete the ‘Save the Refugees’ and ‘Rescue the Druid Halsin’ side quests first. Then after using a ‘long rest,’ players can initiate conversation with Lae'zel and talk about the events up to now.
As you engage in a conversation with her at the camp, she may once again express her belief in the Githyanki approach to resolving the tadpole issue, contrasting with Druid Halsin's perspective (depending on your progress in Act I).
At this point, you'll have the option to flirtingly ask her if she's been looking at you differently of late. In response, she will candidly admit to a change in her perception of you and she'll say that she is interested in a romantic relationship with you.
Players can then return to a bedroll, where two options may appear - whether to sleep alone or with Lae'zel. Upon selecting the latter option, the two of you will engage in a sexual encounter with one another.
