Highlights
Defeating the Undead Prisoner in Prince of Persia requires you to memorize the boss’ attack patterns while also mastering your dodging and parrying skills.
You will encounter this undead brute fairly earlier in the game when you enter the Hyrcanian Forest.
Defeating this mini-boss will grant you 50 Time Crystals along with a Soma Tree Petal for your health upgrades.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown lets players take on the role of Sargon, an elite Persian warrior who embarks on various adventures throughout Mount Qaf. One important and challenging part of your journey is the boss battles that will pit you against some of the most formidable foes in the game and grant you several lucrative rewards upon defeating them.

One such boss is the Undead Prisoner who will attempt to stop you in your tracks when you enter the Hyrcanian Forest in the early game. Here’s how you can defeat him.

How to Defeat the Undead Prisoner in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Although the Undead Prisoner is an early-game mini-boss, he must still be considered a formidable opponent as he can do massive damage to you if your blocks fail. You will also not have many moves and powers at your disposal as you will not have unlocked it yet. Here are some things to keep in mind as you engage in combat against the undead brute:

Understand the Undead Prisoner’s Attack Patterns

Before you begin your battle, you will see the brute break down a pillar and wield it as his weapon. As a starting attack, you will see him take the pillar up high and then slam it onto the ground. Note that he cannot change direction once he charges up for this attack. You can slide between his legs, get to the other side, and start attacking him once he begins charging up for the strike. Do note that this attack can be combo-ed up to 3 times when the Prisoner is low on health so watch out for it!

You will also witness a red attack called the pillar thrust where the Prisoner will charge against you with the pillar in his hand. You will not be able to directly parry it and you will have to resort to other moves such as dodging and dashing to get behind him.

Time Your Parries and Dodges Properly

Once you understand the pattern of the Undead brute’s attacks, make sure you parry and dodge them and maintain your health bar. You can use combo attacks from your primary weapons like the Qays and Layla, the dual blades, etc, to deal massive damage after you get behind him.

He will also perform a yellow attack by swinging the pillar around and this can be parried. Once you successfully perform your counter, you will get a cool attack animation and also deal huge damage in the process. Make sure you stay in front of the Undead Prisoner so that it is easier to dodge or parry it.

Upgrade Your Health Potion at the Mage

If you find yourself with a constantly draining health pool, it might be time to visit the Mage at the Magi Emporium to improve your health potion. Make sure you improve the health potions' effectiveness and quantity. You might need to farm Time Crystals to do so, as each level of enhancement will have increasing upgrade costs.

Those are pretty much all the best ways to defeat the Undead Prisoner in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.  Upon successfully defeating this brute, you will be rewarded with 50 Time Crystals and a Soma Tree Petal to improve your overall health. If this happens to be your fourth Petal, you will receive an additional health bar for your endeavors.
