The Town Hall 16 update in Clash of Clans introduced a new in-game resource called Ores, which is crucial to upgrade your Hero equipment, unlocking new abilities for them.
The game contains three different types of Ores, each of them are used to upgrade Hero equipment at different levels.
The following guide will provide you with some of the best methods to acquire Ores without having to pay for them.

Supercell recently dropped the Town Hall 16 update for its popular Clash of Clans, bringing numerous additions such as new defenses, troops, and a new Blacksmith building, which now adds the ability to enhance the abilities of your heroes. Along with this, Players were also introduced to a new in-game currency called Ores, which plays a critical role when it comes to upgrading Hero equipment.

As soon as you reach Town Hall 8, you can now build the Blacksmith building in your home village and begin obtaining the Ores, which is easier said than done, considering its rarity. If you are wondering if it is possible to acquire these rare resources for free, the answer is Yes! Here’s how you can do it.

How to Get Free Ores in Clash of Clans?

Before we jump into the ways of acquiring free Ores, you need to know about the three different types of Ores present in the game. These are:

  • Shiny Ore: The most common type of Ore that is used to upgrade your Hero equipment for every level.

  • Glowy Ore: This is slightly rarer than the Shiny Ore and it is used to upgrade Hero Equipment at every third level.

  • Starry Ore: The rarest ore present in the game that is exclusively used to enhance Epic Hero equipment.

Ways to Acquire Free Ores in Clash of Clans

Complete Your Daily Star Bonus

Apart from receiving your typical Gold, Elixir, and Dark Elixir, completing your Star Bonus every day will also grant you equipment resources which include both Shiny and Glowy ores. However, to maximize your profits, we recommend that you push to the highest league possible for your Town Hall level. Do this only if you already have a maxed-out or a nearly maxed-out base and your sole priority is to farm Ores for your Hero equipment.

Participate in Clan Wars and Clan War Leagues

Attacking players who have Town Hall 8 bases or above will grant you these Ores after the end of your war. While Shiny and Glowy Ores can be obtained from any eligible base, acquiring the Starry Ore requires you to attack Town Hall 10 bases or higher.

Before you begin your attack, you will be shown the exact amount of Ores you will obtain if you defeat your enemy’s village. However, you need to remember that the final number of Ores you receive is dependent on how many stars you obtain from your attack and whether or not you win or lose the war. Try to join clans that have good win rates and are frequently engaging in wars.

Join Other Clans Temporarily to Increase Your Ore Rewards

If your clan does not mind your disappearance for a while, you can try switching over to another friendly clan and participate in their wars to earn additional Ore rewards. Make sure you do this only after receiving your war rewards from your main clan.

Participate in Special Events

Players can also participate in occasional in-game events which will reward them with Ores upon completing the specified challenges. The recent one was the Cookie Rumble event which ran until the 1st of January.

Those are pretty much all the ways to obtain free Ores in Clash of Clans without having to spend any real money. If you find yourself with an abundance of gems acquired from completing in-game achievements, you can occasionally buy Ores from the Trader as well.
