Make sure to use your Eagle Vision to uncover various hidden clues.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has finally been released and several fans are overjoyed to get their hands on the game. Ubisoft aims to take the series back to its roots with this installment. The game has reportedly been developed with heavy influence from AC Unity and its City elements. The gameplay is aimed to reciprocate some of what the veteran players would have experienced in the Ezio trilogy.

Although the graphics and mechanics are revamped from AC Valhalla, the game still feels refreshing due to its emphasis on stealth and a new investigation system. Without further ado, let’s delve into it.

How Does the Investigation System Work in AC Mirage?

The investigation system in Mirage is pretty much tied to the main campaign. Once you set foot in Baghdad, you will have to visit the Assassin’s Bureau in four different districts; Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, and Sharqiyah.

Before you get to assassinate the highest-ranking members in the Order of the Ancients, each of these bureaus will put you through an arc, which is basically a set of objectives that you have to reach in order to kill the main target. The game essentially makes you complete certain tasks put up on the Investigation Board in order to plan out your final assassination.

As mentioned above, you have to complete a smaller set of objectives before you carry out the final assassination. These require you to do certain things while you are conducting such investigations. They are:

Exploring the District

These missions often require you to meet up with a civilian NPC and walk around the area as they provide valuable information regarding the events occurring in the district.

Eavesdropping on NPCs

This feature has been brought back from previous Assassin’s Creed titles and it requires you to sit on a bench, hide in a bush or behind a wall, and aim your camera at the NPCs so you can overhear the conversation. You can do this whenever you see a tiny ear icon next to the NPC.

Examining Rooms Or Buildings

This is one of the most basic and intuitive tasks present in an AC game where you will have to look through different objects in a room or through an entire building. These tasks include:

  • Reading through logs, registers, and documents

  • Take a peek into crates, chests, and other boxes.

  • Rummaging through other items such as vessels, Urns. etc.

Don’t forget to use your Eagle Vision to make the task easier to carry out. It will give an orange highlight if the item or the person you are looking for is in close proximity.

Eliminating Hostiles and Secondary Targets

In some protected areas, you will have to kill a few guards or other hostile enemies in order to rummage through clues peacefully. This might even include assassinating secondary targets such as leaders, elite enemies, etc., who are often trivial compared to the main targets.

That is pretty much how the Investigation system works in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. These smaller quests or objectives are spread out as you attempt to carry out the main assassinations that are part of the storyline. They might be slightly repetitive as most of these require you to follow the same tactics.
