Crossing huge seas of lava can be quite an arduous task, especially being if you are new to the Nether realm. Here are three different methods you can use.
Most players can attempt to build cobblestone bridges or tame striders, provided you only have short distances of lava to get over.

Minecraft has an underworld hell-like realm called the nether which has an abundance of hostile and mysterious creatures, harsh terrains, and numerous biomes, each presenting a different challenge. The water in a hellish realm like the underworld is the lava which can be found in vast amounts, sometimes creating seas of it. If you come in contact with pools of lava, your chances of surviving rapidly drop with a damage rate of 4 inflicted every half second. However, there are different methods you can use to get past these lava seas. Let’s take a look!

Here Are All the Ways to Get Across Lava Seas in Minecraft

Lava seas in Minecraft are no joking matter, as they can inflict massive damage upon you. Here’s what you can do:

Building Bridges Over Lava Seas

When most players enter the Nether realm, they usually carry a large stack of rocks with them for multiple purposes, one of which is to get across seas of lava. It involves stacking heat and damage-resistant stones like cobblestone while also dodging fireballs from ghast mobs. This can get pretty rough especially when you consider that these fireballs can destroy parts of bridges as well.

Players proficient in this skill can also attempt to build red-stone contraptions to get themselves across lava seas by building a bridge-building machine of sorts.

Galloping on a Striker

In Minecraft, Striders are unique Nether Spawns that have the ability to walk over lava. They usually wander aimlessly and they can be mounted by using a saddle and steered using warped fungus on a stick. Although it sounds like a similar process to taming other steeds in the game, Striders can be drastically slower than most of them. They can't withstand attacks from other ghasts as they are pretty weak and also slow to dodge oncoming hits.

It is understandably one of the slowest ways to get around the Nether but you can use them it if you wish to get over short distances of lava, while also knowing that there are not many enemies around you.

Flying using Elytra

Elytra is the equipment used to glide around areas even in survival mode. You can slot them into your chest plate, climb up some hilly areas, and jump from the top while holding the jump button to hover around.

Alternatively, you can also use this gear in combination with firework rockets to thrust yourself up into the air and then glide forward. This is one of the most preferred and easy methods to get yourself past huge seas of lava.

However, players who are new to the game will not have the Elytra, as it is an end-game item found in End cities. It is usually unlocked only after defeating the Ender Dragon. You must also watch out for large lava falls while flying, and dodge them efficiently.
