The creator of the game, 505 Games, had to officially announce the release date of the game after rumors regarding it spread like wildfire. In a tweet, 505 Games jokingly said that even its ninja skills couldn’t protect this valuable information.
Ghostrunner 2 will officially release on 26th October on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X/S, EPIC Store, GOG Games and Steam.

Ghostrunner 2 is an action-packed, lightning-paced slasher that expands the Ghost Runner world beyond the Dharma Tower. This highly anticipated hardcore FPP slasher is set one year after the events of Ghostrunner where you adventure through a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk future that takes place after the fall of the Keymaster, a tyrant who ruled over Dharma Tower. "Jack is back to take on the violent AI cult that has assembled outside Dharma Tower and shape the future of humanity," said 505 Games.

This second iteration has enemies that will respond to your attacks differently, depending on the skills you use, adding a layer of versatility to the game and a breath of fresh air to the enemy-dynamics.
You can also groove to the synthwave soundtrack by Daniel Deluxe, We Are Magonia, Gost, Dan Terminus, and Arek Reikowski in Ghostrunner 2.
