Fallout Series Officially Gets Renewed for Season 2 on Prime Video!

It's a known fact that the Fallout series has proven to be an explosive hit for Amazon and Bethesda, bringing attention to the games themselves and allowing the franchise to become a cultural phenomenon. Despite the incredible success and the expectations from fans that the series will be making a return, it wasn't confirmed that there will be a second season. However, it's now officially confirmed that Fallout will soon be arriving on our TV screens yet again, as it's been renewed for a second season on Prime Video. The renewal news comes right after the second season ended up getting $25 million USD in tax credits as filming moved to California.

What's Coming in Fallout Season 2?

While a second season has been officially confirmed, we still don't know anything about its plot. It's not even confirmed that certain actors from the main cast will be returning. However, it's surely great news for fans who've been hoping for a second season. This also gives those developing the series a chance to dig deeper into Fallout's well-established lore and add things that fans hoped to see in the first season.

Recently, in an interview with TheWrap, co-showrunner Graham Wagner elaborated on the team's approach to the Fallout series and the upcoming season: "We wanted to get Deathclaws, but we didn't want to just throw it away. It's such a monumental piece," and further added "We want to save some something for Season 2 to be able to do it properly, not just added on to the massive world building we had to do already in Season 1. So Season 2, we're very excited to finally tackle one of the most iconic elements of the games”

It's clear that the writers and development team have been meticulously saving a lot of things from the Wasteland to utilize in the second season of Fallout. Their dedication to providing justice to certain aspects of Fallout's franchise in the adaptation is evident. They did not want to cram everything into the first season, ensuring a well-paced and thoughtful exploration of the Fallout universe.

We also know where the upcoming season will take place, as the first season's finale teases a shot of the most iconic location, New Vegas. It's been a great source of controversy among fans, with some demanding the show remove Fallout: New Vegas from the canon; however, that doesn't seem to be happening.

When Will Fallout Season 2 Come Out?

Unfortunately, there's still no official release date for the second season of Fallout. However, we can take some guesses. The first season's shooting began in July 2022, and the show was released in April 2024. With the confirmation that Season 2 is coming, the filming might begin in the summer or fall of 2024. There's a chance that Fallout Season might be ready to air by 2025.
