As revealed in a Fortnite blog post, the price increases will go live for a number of regions on 27th October 2023. These adjudgments target Fortnite V-Bucks and content packs sold in the following region: Czech Republic, Denmark, Eurozone countries, Hungary, Japan, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States.”
As we’ve said before, Epic Games has made these adjustments based on economic factors such as inflation and exchange rate fluctuations. They follow similar price changes that were recently implemented in Mexico, Canada, and the UK.
Although Brazil was not mentioned in the blog post, the update was also shared on the Brazilian portal of the Fortnite game, so players should keep an eye out for the price.

If you’re wondering how severe the price bumps are, it depends on how many Fortnite V-Bucks you are planning to purchase. In the United States, players can expect the following changes
1,000 V-Bucks for $8.99 USD (Currently $7.99 USD)
2,800 V-Bucks for $22.99 USD (Currently $19.99 USD)
5,000 V-Bucks for $36.99 USD (Currently $31.99 USD)
13,500 V-Bucks for $89.99 USD (Currently $79.99 USD)
The blog post mentions that the upcoming Fortnite V-Bucks price increase is not going to impact the Fortnite Crew subscription. However, certain Content Packs' prices will be adjusted once they become available again, including The Final Reckoning Pack, Graveyard Drift Quest Pack, Skull Squad Pack, Saint Academy Quest Pack, and the Transformers Pack.
The latest Fortnite V-Bucks price increase was announced hours before Epic Games announced large-scale layoffs today, laying off 830 employees, which was about 16% of their workforce.
