Cyberpunk 2077: What is REDmod?
Cyberpunk 2077’s patch 1.6 added crossover content and a host of other major bug fixes for the game, but a tool was also added with the patch, official mod tools for Cyberpunk 2077.
In patch 1.6, we see the addition of REDmod for Cyberpunk 2077. REDmod is a set of modding tools that provides integrated support for installing and loading mods into Cyberpunk 2077. REDmod also lets players add new modding tools that can be used specifically for Cyberpunk 2077. It makes it possible to create your own Mods, which include custom sounds, animations, scripts, and much more. CD Projekt Red says it will keep updating REDmod alongside game patches to ensure compatibility.
New mods developed for the game will require a specific format to be compatible with REDmod. Cyberpunk 2077 will still support old mods, but they will not be appearing in the REDmod menu.
Cyberpunk 2077: How to Install REDmod?
REDmod is shipped as a free DLC with the game. Here is how you can install the mod –
Installing REDmod on Steam
Make sure that you have the base Cyberpunk 2077 game installed in your Library.
Go ahead and download the mod from here to add it like other DLCs in the game.
Installing REDmod on GOG
Get REDmod for Cyberpunk 2077 from here.
Head to Cyberpunk 2077 in your Library and click on Settings, which is next to the Play button.
Click on Manage Installation, choose Configure, and select the DLC tab.
Be sure to have Cyberpunk 2077 REDmod checked.
Also, under the Feature Tab, ensure you have the Launch Parameter checked. Under Launch Parameter, you must also ensure the Default Executable file is checked.
