Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Will Also Include a Free Update With 10 Massive Changes
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a paid DLC that will expand upon the game world and offer new content to all players. The expansion is set to release on 26th September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows. Even though the base game is available on older-gen consoles, the DLC will not be available on PS4 and Xbox One consoles. In addition to all of the story content, the game is also getting some free updates that will change the game’s core mechanics.
10 Changes Coming to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
Here is all of the new content that you can expect in the game when the new DLC drops:
Brand-new district (playable area)
Dozens of story quests and gigs
Vehicle combat and mounted weaponry
Revamped police system
Combat AI overhaul
Endless dynamic events and missions
Redesigned cyberware and perks
All new relic skill tree and abilities
Increased level cap
Over 100 new items, weapons, cyberware and fashion items
All of these changes will be accessible for free even if you do not purchase the DLC. If you do purchase the DLC, you will get access to a short campaign featuring actor Idris Elba. The story content will be locked behind a paywall for players who get the DLC and it is also likely to have some story-exclusive gear which will not be accessible as part of the free update that is coming with it.
A lot of features that were seemingly cut from the game at launch or things that should have been part of the experience are finally being added. Player complaints are also being addressed by CD Projekt Red and players are hoping that the update finally makes Cyberpunk 2077 a complete experience. The DLC is available for pre-order on all platforms and there are some bonuses if you get the game early.
