There’s no doubt that Chimera is one of the most dangerous bosses in Cyberpunk 2077, but the Chimera Core serves as a worthy reward for all the trouble you go through. Here’s how you can take Chimera’s Core and use it in Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: How to Get The Chimera’s Core?
Players will face unique bosses and challenges in Cyberpunk 2077’s latest expansion, one of the earliest fights being against The Chimera. It’s a long, drawn-out combat that can take you tens of minutes to defeat the robot. At the end of the fight, you can pick up a bit of loot and grab The Chimera’s core.
You might think that you can find The Chimera core on or within the Chimera itself, but that’s not the case, so don’t waste your time doing this.
The Chimera core will be on the ground, a couple of feet away from the boss’s body. It’s a small object that looks like it took some damage during the fight.
After you’ve found the core, pick it up. Taking The Chimera core is optional while you get President Myers to safety. By default, there’s no marker for the core on the ground. You can head into the mini-map and try to switch tasks to get an exclamation point on the core. Once you have obtained the core, you can leave the main boss room as there’s no other major reward to pick up.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: How to Use The Chimera’s Core?
In order to use The Chimera’s core, you have to open up the crafting session in the player menu and find the Tier 5 Iconic Weapons Mod at the top. With The Chimera’s core, you can craft four different mods, and you only require that singular material to get the reward you want. Keep in mind that each main weapon class has one version of the core mod tied to it, so use it carefully and precisely.
After you’ve created the mod you wanted in Cyberpunk 2077, you can unequip it from any weapons at any time. Even if you destroy a weapon with The Chimera Mod installed, the mod will go straight back into your inventory.
