Only a few titles have generated as much hype as Cyberpunk 2077 in the modern gaming landscape.CD Projekt Red’s futuristic RPG might have had a rocky launch in December 2020 that left many players disappointed, but things are changing. CD Project Red is preparing for a massive overhaul with the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0, which aims to unleash the game’s full potential, and now we finally have a release date for it.

Cyberpunk 2077: Update 2.0 Release Date Announced

Cyberpunk 2077’s big overhaul is coming, with its paid expansion and a massive 2.0 Update both right around the corner. We already knew about the expansion. Phantom Liberty was going to be released on 26th September 2023, but CD Projekt Red has confirmed that its 2.0 Update will arrive five days earlier, on 21st September 2023. 

The 2.0 Update plans to touch on a broad range of core game systems and completely overhaul them. Here’s the official Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update date trailer –

In the trailer, the player character drives around Night City before a showdown with the city’s police force. We see Max Tac turn up with the player seemingly gunned down after a firefight. We get a glimpse of the reworked police system, which is one of the main highlights of 2.0 Update.

Cyberpunk 2077: What’s Coming in the 2.0 Update?

Now that we have an official release date for the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, the next question is, what’s coming in the update?

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update aims to provide a massive revamp to the base game. There’s going to be a complete overhaul of the perk system with the addition of brand-new perks. Players will be able to respec their characters with previously earned points.

The highlight of the update is the revamped police system. Police will be more aggressive now, and they’ll do their best to ram you off the road, set up roadblocks, and even send out bosses if you reach a certain level.

There’s also the introduction of vehicle combat, which now allows players to shoot SMGs and pistols out of car windows or on motorcycles. You can engage in car chases while firing at your car pursuers and even target drivers/passengers, fuel tanks, and tires.

There’s also a general improvement to loot, item, and crafting systems. Players can also expect to see new radio stations and UI improvements.
