Black Myth: Wukong Might Be Available for Pre-orders From Mid-May!

After years of leaks and speculation, Chinese Developer Game Science is all set for the worldwide release of Black Myth: Wukong on 20th August 2024. Numerous gameplay videos have dropped since its showcase at Gamescom 2023, with the developer following it up with a release date trailer at The Game Awards in December last year.

While Back Myth: Wukong is well on its way, new rumors suggest that it might be available for pre-order from the middle of May, exciting many fans who have been waiting for years to get their hands on the game.

Black Myth: Wukong’s Pre-orders Might Possible Go Live From Mid-May

This information comes from a leaker who goes by @ignusthewise on X, who has previously reported about the game in some instances. They mention that the game is still in its optimization phase, however, all the dubbing for its voice lines has been completed.  

The leaker also says that the amount of content packed into the game is huge, and it might exceed expectations. While it might seem appealing, you need to keep in mind that the information provided by the leaker is spotty at best. While they did predict some information that was eventually posted on the official game page on X, their timing has been pretty unreliable.

Although Black Myth: Wukong’s page has already gone live on PlayStation and Steam, it only contains known descriptions of the game’s key features and storyline. Besides that, no official announcement has been provided by Game Science or any other credible sources regarding the exact date for pre-orders, so please take this with a grain of salt.

For those unaware, Black Myth: Wukong is heavily based on the 16th-century novel “Journey to the West”, which is considered one of the greatest classical novels in Chinese literature. Its action RPG gameplay follows the story of Sun Wukong, a monkey king who is deemed the “Destined One”, and embarks on a mythical journey filled with challenges to uncover the myths of a past legend.

The game officially debuted in 2020 with a 13-minute gameplay trailer that captivated the attention of thousands of gamers. Since then, it has gone through several transformations and is currently running on Unreal Engine 5 with support for full Ray Tracing, making for awe-inspiring visuals within its game world.  Black Myth: Wukong will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 20th August 2024.
