Baldur’s Gate 3: Bug Fixes, New Patch, Reports and More
Larian Studios shared exciting statistics pulled from the opening week, reflecting popular player choices. These statistics not only display the enthusiasm with which the game was received but also the time players spent on it, creating characters and exploring the world.
93% of the players began their journey with a custom character, which included the Dark Urge, and spent 88 years crafting their Tavs in Character Creation. Interestingly, 10% of the players who made characters in Character Creation spent over an hour doing so. The other side of the coin is that 7% of the players started the game as one of the Origin Characters. The most popular choice for this was Gale, who surprisingly also had the 7th highest cause of death in the game.
And for every player at the peak concurrent player rate on Steam (roughly around 815,000), one NPC was shoved into the chasm.
The race and class split consisted of half-elves and Paladins, being the number choices, respectively. Surprisingly enough, Githyanki was the least popular choice of race, and Cleric sat at the bottom of the class choice.
Baldur’s Gate 3 now enters its second weekend, and with it come new challenges. Larian Studios is working to fix hotfixes and other reported bugs that players might have encountered during gameplay. The developers have also decided to increase the size of savegames due to the overwhelming number of players.
Apart from this, Larian Studios has also shared that these new changes and bug fixes will also reflect on the PlayStation 5 version, which is set to release on 6th September 2023. As players explore the open world of Baldur’s Gate 3, they are expected to report any bugs they encounter to smooth the gaming experience.
Lastly, Larian Studios informed players that they do have a roadmap in place, that guides them in fixing bugs. It also been revealed that the developers are also working on a new patch, which will soon be released containing ‘gigantic list of tweaks and changes'.
