Baldur's Gate 3 players want to hide the version number displayed on the screen during gameplay and cutscenes.
A mod called Djmr's Improved UI on Nexus Mods can remove the version number effectively.
Alternatively, players can use the in-game solution by pressing the F10 hotkey during cutscenes, but it might feel clunky and require adaptation to playing without a visible UI.

Baldur's Gate 3 has received much acclaim from its fans thanks to its immersive story and incredible RPG elements. However, one thing that has irked some fans is the game’s version number being so prominently displayed on the screen. Many have expressed their desire to remove the version number watermark that appears on-screen during gameplay and cutscenes.

While a future patch may officially address this concern, players don't have to wait to hide the version number. You can take matters into your own hands and hide it all by yourself with some help from a mod.

Baldur's Gate 3: How to Remove Version Number from Screen

One of the most straightforward ways to remove the version number is by utilizing Djmr's Improved UI mod, available on Nexus Mods. This mod efficiently eliminates the version text from dialogue and in-game screens, providing a cleaner visual experience for players.

Installing the mod is a fairly straightforward process:

  1. Download the mod from Nexus Mods or from Github

  2. Move the downloaded .pak file to the folder "%LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods"

  3. Ensure "Enable gameplay stats tracking" is disabled in the Larian Launcher when you’re launching the game.

That's it! No need to add any mod list entry or make any complicated changes. The version number will now be hidden when you play the game. Enjoy a cleaner gaming experience!

Note: The mod completely replaces the UI files created by Larian Studios. As a result, if Larian Studios releases a hotfix or patch that updates these files, it could lead to compatibility issues with the mod. Additionally, if you have other mods installed that modify the same UI files, conflicts may arise.

For players who prefer not to use mods in Baldur's Gate 3, the game offers an in-game solution to hide the version number. By simply pressing the F10 hotkey during cutscenes, players can effectively remove the entire user interface, including the version number. While this method may require pressing F10 at the beginning and end of each cutscene, it guarantees an unobstructed view during these crucial moments.

Admittedly, this workaround may feel a bit clunky and inconvenient. Yet, it is the only available option within the default game settings. Therefore, players who wish to avoid using mods will need to accept the presence of the version number below their mini-maps unless they can adapt to playing without a visible UI.
