In an interview with IGN, Swen Vincke, the head of Larian Studios, shed light on the game's impressive depth. According to Vincke, a single playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 is estimated to take players on a journey spanning an impressive 75 to 100 hours on average. The scope of this gameplay duration alone attests to the vastness of the immersive experience that awaits players.
"It's a substantial journey," Vincke remarked. "Between 75 and 100 hours, that's what we're seeing. That's not doing everything, that is just going to be a playthrough. There will be people who will be way over that, the ones who want to do everything. They will probably hit 200 hours, I think. On average we're seeing people who are going through take about 75 to 100 hours."
For those looking to delve into the multiplayer aspect of Baldur's Gate 3, the journey promises to extend even further. Swen Vincke anticipates that multiplayer sessions of the game will span a considerable duration, comparable to the timeframes seen with their previous title, Divinity Original Sin 2. Vincke suggests, "They'll take a year, a year and a half. We say that with Divinity Original Sin 2, and it will be no different here."
