Gameloft’s Asphalt series has captivated mobile gamers for decades by providing an immersive arcade-style racing experience for handheld devices. There have been numerous entries into the series with Asphalt 9 Legends being the current outgoing title. Although it is currently active and still receiving numerous updates and events, the game does feel a bit long in the tooth as it was released five years ago in February 2019.
Considering this, numerous fans are wondering about the new entry which will presumably surpass the current title. Although there is no official word from the studio, there are several rumors and speculations regarding the release date of this upcoming game. Let’s go ahead and take a look.
Asphalt 10 Potential Release Date
Judging from past trends, several fans were expecting this title to be released at the beginning of this year. This is due to the five-year time frame between the numbered entries in the series. Asphalt 8 was released in 2013 while Asphalt 9 came out in 2018, which indicated that the upcoming game will be released this year.
According to information on the videogame fandom page Asphalt 10 was expected to go through its soft launch for the US in January this year followed by a full release in spring 2023. However, the launch has now been postponed to Summer 2024 with a possible soft launch in March 2024.
Asphalt 10 Expected Platforms
Although the devs at Gameloft have always had an emphasis on launching most of their titles for mobile devices, the last few entries in the series have also been showcased on Windows with the current Asphalt 9 game also making its way to macOS, Apple Arcade, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and even getting a Nintendo Switch version. This indicates that the devs are looking to venture out to other platforms, which means we can expect the upcoming title to also make its way to the aforementioned systems.
Asphalt 10 Possible Features
Considering the fact that the outgoing Asphalt 9 has overhauled features from its predecessor, we can expect the core elements of Asphalt games to be retained in the upcoming title. This includes single-player game modes like “My Career” which showcases time attacks, police chases, and progression missions along with a few 1v1 races.
We can expect this title to also feature seasonal events, and daily events, along with online multiplayer races in both ranked and unranked modes. On all of these modes, you can expect to gain access to a wide variety of cars from several manufacturers.
Apart from gameplay, we can also expect improved graphics and other accessibility options such as controller input, refined touch control choices, etc. As with any Asphalt title, the 10th numbered entry will also feature rich and engaging soundtracks from popular artists to add to the immersion.
That is pretty much everything we know so far about the supposedly upcoming Asphalt 10. Please take this information with a grain of salt as most of it is based on rumors and speculations that are floating around online. If you are looking for a solid mobile racing experience and you haven’t yet tried this series before, then you must definitely check out the current Asphalt 9 game.
