While many gamers know FromSoftware for their popular Dark Souls franchise, they are also pioneers of Mech games with their Armored Core series. The first Armored Core game dates all the way back to 1997, which proves FromSoftware’s expertise. After winning Game of The Year with Elden Ring, they seemed to have gone back to their roots and created the much-awaited sequel to Armored Core while adding several new elements to it. Although FromSoftware claims that its main focus is on providing a single-player experience, these leaks and rumors seem to suggest otherwise. Let's take a look at them.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon Multiplayer Leaks
Armored Core 6 aims to captivate new players to the Mech genre by providing a compelling single-player experience, however, hardcore fans of the game are certainly expecting to battle it out in the game’s multiplayer mode. In a post to the r/armoredcore subreddit, a Reddit user who goes by u/EntertainmentMission has posted an image of what seems to be a physical disk version of Armored Core 6 in Japanese stores.
If you look at the bottom, you will figure out that the game mentions support for up to 6 players while also allowing three spectators, which shows the possibility of an added spectator mode. This would allow you to conduct Mech tournaments in Armored Core 6 which has gotten fans very excited.
It also mentions that the size of the game will be around 65GB although it is unsure whether it is for the PlayStation 4 or the PlayStation 5 version of the game.
It is important to note that there is no information regarding the multiplayer mode or the addition of spectator mode on the official website for Armored Core 6, so please take this with a grain of salt.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will officially launch on 25th August for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.
