Alan Wake 2 New Release Date and Gameplay Features
Alan Wake 2 by Remedy Entertainment has been in development for around four years now. The long-awaited sequel was conceptualized right after the release of the first game in 2010 and it was finally announced at the Game Awards 2021. The game improves upon the first title by featuring two protagonists and two different storylines that are mysteriously intertwined with each other. Several fans of the first game highly anticipated Alan Wake 2’s arrival on 17th October but the release schedule has been postponed by ten days to the 27th, considering the fact that October has been a busy month for new game releases.
Alan Wake 2 Release date
The new release date for Alan Wake 2 will be 27th October.
Remedy’s decision appears to be well-founded, considering that October 2023 will host the launch of new game titles. October 2023 is slated to see the launch of numerous titles including Detective Pikachu Returns on the 6th, Forza Motorsport on the 10th, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the 20th, among others.
Alan Wake 2 Gameplay Features
Alan Wake 2 is a pseudo third-person shooter where players will use light as a main feature to fight against dark and evil enemies. It also aims to improve upon the horror elements from the first game with a major emphasis on being a survival-horror game, which has worked out really well for Remedy in the past with Control being a huge success. Unlike the first game, players will also have an inventory with limited storage. They need to be thoughtful of the resources available to them such as ammo, medkits, and painkillers.
Furthermore, the game also features dual protagonists, one being Alan Wake and the other being the brand-new Saga Anderson who is an FBI profiler. While Alan’s story will occur within the Dark Place, Saga will take players to the Pacific Northwest consisting of Bright Falls, the mysterious Cauldron Lake, and the town of Watery. Players will be allowed to switch between the two at various points throughout the game where both stories would foreshadow each other, providing for an enticing narrative. Similar to the first game, Alan Wake 2 will retain its episodic nature, with the story uncovering as players progress through each chapter of the game.
