Nintendo Switch has amassed a massive collection of games ever since its release in the year 2017. One such game is FIFA 23. However, the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 23 is quite different from the version released on other platforms like the Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The game comes with a Legacy Edition tagline which has not been seen on the other platforms. This is because the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 23 was developed on an older version of the game engine. This was due to the hardware limitations of the handheld Nintendo Switch. As a result the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 23 may lack certain features present on other platforms such as the Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
What is the Legacy Edition on FIFA 23 ?
The Legacy Edition of FIFA 23 on the Nintendo Switch is almost identical to the FIFA 22 version of the game albeit with an updated roster. Down below is the statement on EA’s official website :
According to EA, "FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will feature the same Gameplay features and modes from FIFA 22 Legacy Edition without any new development or significant enhancements."
FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will feature the latest kits clubs and squads from the major league. There is also an addition of new stadiums, women’s club teams along with updated visuals and a fresh broadcast overlay package. Due to the hardware limitations of the Nintendo Switch, the game will be missing out on updates such as the hyper motion 2 technology, Power Shots and the world cup mode.
Is it worth it to buy FIFA 23 on the Nintendo Switch?
FIFA 23 would be a much better experience on other platforms like the Xbox, PlayStation and PC, as it offers several other features and events compared to the Nintendo Switch. However, if you are up for some handheld FIFA experience and the Nintendo Switch is your only gaming device, then FIFA 23 Legacy edition is still a good buy.
