EA Sports’ latest football iteration, EA FC 24, has only been out for a few days now but has left fans exasperated. The community has been facing a ‘drop-in not working error’ that has hampered their gaming experience. This bug is seen particularly in Pro-Clubs, an exclusively online game mode.
With a swarm of community members reaching out, EA Sports has acknowledged the issue on the investigation Trello board. But a permanent solution is yet to be found. Fortunately, we have got you covered with a series of solutions that will help you resolve the issue.
What is the EA FC 24 ‘Drop-in’ Error?
Drop-in is a feature that enables swift online matchmaking, allowing players to join unranked matches with randomly composed teams. These are casual matches with an element of surprise, but things are not looking so good for the players.
They have found this error manifesting in various ways, including but not limited to:
Inability to join online matches
Instant connection loss while loading drop-in matches
Extremely long loading times when looking for a drop-in game
‘Drop-in’ Error pop up
Sometimes, players may even get connected to an online match, but it never begins, leaving them frustrated.
Possible Solutions to fix the Drop-in Error
A Reddit user by the name of u/MarMat8 suggested using a non-customized/stock character. They suggested removing any customized modifications from the characters and then searching for online matches again and again. Teams with modified characters have higher chances of crashing compared to those with stock characters.
While this solution appeared to be the light at the end of the tunnel, the issue still persists. The Reddit user has already updated the post, letting us know that the solution is ‘hardly working as before’.
Another Reddit user, AmigoLikeQuavo, replied to a lot of comments on the same post, claiming that joining a random club before using drop-in fixed the error. However, this too, like the previous solution, worked for some time and then relapsed.
Other potential solutions that you can try include:
Restarting the device
Turning off cross-playing across all platforms
Playing single-player modes
Playing couch co-op
Trying to connect when there is chance of fewer players on the server
Uninstalling and then reinstalling EA FC 24
While these solutions may work for some, others may have to wait for either an official bug fix or an update to resolve the issue. In the meantime, you can try out some of these solutions and use whichever works best for you.
