Whoopi Goldberg expresses frustration with Blizzard Entertainment for not refunding her copy of Diablo IV in an Instagram video.
Goldberg, a devoted Diablo series fan, purchased the game on its release date but then found out that it does not work on Apple devices, including Mac.
She urges Blizzard to port the game to Mac and requests a refund if they cannot provide the gaming experience.

In a recent Instagram video, renowned actress and co-host of the daytime talk show The View, Whoopi Goldberg, expressed her frustration with Blizzard Entertainment for not refunding her copy of their hit ARPG Diablo 4. Goldberg purchased the latest installment of the Diablo franchise that released on June 6, only to encounter a significant issue: the game does not work on Apple devices, including the macOS.

An avid gamer and a dedicated fan of the Diablo series, Goldberg, expressed her frustration with Blizzard Entertainment on Instagram. In a video message, she candidly stated, "I'm tired of people not doing what they say they're going to do. I want my game. I want my money back. Please, Blizzard, I love ya'll, this is a little out of control now."

The legendary EGOT-winning star specifically pointed out the absence of support for Apple's Mac platform in Diablo 4, urging Blizzard to port the game over. In her video message, Goldberg requested Blizzard Entertainment to allow Mac users to enjoy the game on their Apple devices, saying, "Take Diablo IV and let us do it and have a great time."

Whoopi Goldberg is still awaiting a refund for Diablo 4

After posting her initial comments about this on June 7th, Whoopi Goldberg posted an update on June 16th claiming that she still hadn’t received a refund for the purchase.

Expressing her disappointment, Goldberg further added, "I understand they want me to go get this Xbox, but I want my money back—if you're not going to give me my game. What is happening with this? I feel I'm nice about it, but a lot of people are upset that they did not get what they were promised."

Prior installments of the franchise including Diablo II and Diablo III were available on Apple devices like macOS. However, Diablo II: Resurrected was released in September 2021 and was only made available for Playstation, XBOX, Nintendo, and Windows. In January 2022, Microsoft (which owns Windows and XBOX platforms) announced that it was moving to acquire Activision Blizzard in an all-cash transaction valued at $68.7 billion.

Goldberg lamented the lack of information regarding Microsoft's acquisition of Blizzard, stating, "Again, I didn't get the email that said 'Hey, Microsoft is taking over Blizzard,' I didn't get that email, or I wouldn't have bought the game."

As Goldberg's complaint gains traction on social media, fans and gamers alike are paying attention to how Blizzard Entertainment will respond to her request for a refund and their commitment to addressing the concerns surrounding the absence of Diablo 4 on the Mac platform. With Goldberg's popularity and influence, it remains to be seen whether Blizzard will take action to rectify the situation and maintain a positive relationship with their passionate fan base.
