After reaching level 50 and having explored the majority of Sanctuary, the Diablo 4 Paragon Board is the game's endgame leveling feature. It is impossible to overstate the value of these stat-based boards in high-level material, which offer significant buffs in the form of stat increases and legendary nodes that grant unique skills appropriate to your class.

When you first enter the endgame, you could also be interested in killing a few world bosses or getting your hands on some of your class's Unique items.  Here's our guide to help you with everything you need to know about Diablo 4's Paragon Board, explaining how it works, how to unlock it, and how Glyphs and Gates work.

How Paragon Boards Work in Diablo 4

Diablo 4's post-campaign progression mechanism is the Paragon Board. A Paragon Board, like Diablo 3's Paragon system, is used to enhance the overall power of your build gradually.

First and foremost, the usual level cap in Diablo 4 is set at 50, with players intended to reach or be close to this limit before the end of the story. However, for a live service game like this, this is just the beginning of a player's journey on the Paragon Board.

All XP collected will now be used to gain Paragon Points, awarded for every 25% of the usual XP bar filled, equating to four Paragon Points per level. Completing all of the Renown requirements in each of the game's five regions will also award four Paragon Points.

Each class will have its own starting board, with distinct node types that appeal to various play styles. Sorcerers may have more Intelligence nodes, whilst Barbarians may have more Strength nodes, with one point required for each node.

As you progress upward, you'll encounter magic and rare nodes, which grant stronger, more noticeable boosts than the default stat nodes. When you reach the end of your current board, a Gate node will appear, allowing you to link another board to your existing passive tree. Your starter board also has a Glyph socket, which allows you to add customized passive effects or adjust the stats offered by surrounding stat nodes.

Paragon Glyphs, Sockets, and how to use them.

A Socket is a unique tile that can hold a Glyph. Glyphs are Sanctuary objects that, when placed in a Paragon Board, provide varied bonuses according on the amount of active tiles within their radius. You will normally begin your Paragon Board with numerous blue Glyphs, however Rare Glyphs can be found later on.

Leveling up a Glyph increases the radius of its impact, allowing it to take power from or impart power to more active tiles on the board.

Glyphs are classified into three types:

  1. Attribute Glyphs: Nodes that increase your base attributes also grant a secondary bonus.

  2. Rarity Glyphs: Magic or Rare nodes within the Glyph's radius are stronger.

  3. Stat Magnitude Glyphs: Nodes within range gain a bonus to X and Y modifiers.

Furthermore, all Glyphs have a secondary bonus locked behind an attribute requirement, such as allocating 40 Dexterity inside the Glyph's radius or obtaining a total Intelligence value of 400. These additional perks are usually highly powerful and should be unlocked for most builds.

Attaching new Paragon Boards

A Gate can be found at the end of every Paragon Board in Diablo 4. This one-of-a-kind Node allows you to connect numerous board components, and these extra boards are designed to help you concentrate in on specific constructions.

Each class has access to eight unique boards, with every one of them equipped with a special Legendary node socket and a Glyph socket. While you can not reuse the same Paragon Board twice, you are able to rotate them, allowing you easier access to the stat bonuses and node sockets you want to prioritize.
