Diablo 4 Malignant Hearts Guide

As part of the first season of Diablo 4 which is also called the season of Malignant, players are introduced to a new elite enemy type called Malignant which reaps several in-game rewards. Malignant Hearts can be considered as a key feature of the season one update as they offer powerful effects that are on par with the legendary aspects present in the game. What Are Malignant Hearts in Diablo 4 and How Do You Use Them?

Malignant Hearts are rewards dropped upon killing a new and elite enemy class added to the game called Malignant. Their functionality is similar to how Gems work in the game where you can slot them in to attain new perks and abilities specific to the gear you are using. There are four types of Malignant Hearts present in Diablo 4.  They are:

• Brutal Heart: Red(slots into Red jewelry sockets)

• Vicious Heart: Blue(slots into Blue jewelry sockets)

• Devious Heart: Purple(slots into Purple jewelry sockets)

• Wrathful Heart: the only exception that can slot into any socket

Each Heart represents a color and can only be slotted into sockets with their designed colors, except for the Wrathful Heart which is very rare to acquire. They can be slotted into any one of these sockets and can provide extremely powerful effects depending on your build.

In order to capture a Malignant Heart players must kill the Malignant enemy and capture it using the Cage of Binding. Players must keep in mind that performing the binding ritual will draw other elite Malignant enemies, including a stronger version of the one you had just eliminated. Upon killing all of the Malignance around you will be rewarded with a Caged Heart.

Malignant Hearts in Diablo 4 can be slotted into specific pieces of gear to obtain a variety of abilities depending on the type of Heart you received. Diablo 4 Malignant Tunnels

Malignant Tunnels in Diablo 4 are generally smaller and shorter than a typical dungeon but it provides the opportunity to farm for Malignant Hearts as the entire tunnel is infested with a lot of Malignant types. Make sure to look out for these tunnels across Sanctuary as they offer several rewards upon completing new Malignant challenges.
