Abhirup "Lightningfast" Choudhury is an Indian professional Valorant player and he currently plays for Global Esports. Lightningfast has been a staple of the Indian Valorant community for the last three years. He has been a beloved face for the Indian crowd ever since his first showing back in 2020. While Global Esports didn’t have an amazing 2023, Lightningfast will be back soon on the 6th of April, 2024 for the start of the Champions Tour 2024: Pacific Stage 1.

Lightningfast’s Rise to Success

In an interview with Global Esports, Lightningfast talked about his beginnings with computer gaming and his childhood. He hails from Silchar, a small town in the northeast state of Assam, and has been around computers since childhood. After a very short pro career in Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Lightningfast transitioned to Valorant shortly after its release alongside his teammates from the Global Esports CS: GO roster.

Here are some notable results that Lightningfast has achieved in Valorant:

Lightningfast and Ganesh “Skrossi” Gangadhar were the first Indian Valorant players to play in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), the official franchised league of the game. In 2023, Global Esports (GE) experimented with a roster featuring 8 players who were cycled in and out of the team between games. While he didn’t have a lot of showings in the starting roster during the 2023 season, Lightningfast was very impressive in the games that he did get to play. So much so that in the post season roster shuffle, he remained on the team despite the departure of star players like Skrossi, Monyet and t3xture.

Lightningfast’s Earnings

According to Liquipedia, Lightningfast has earned approximately $95,828 from his time as a Valorant professional. He also has a YouTube channel with the same name that is 12.5k subscribers as of writing. He also has a Twitch channel although he rarely streams.

Lightningfasts Social Media

As we wait for the 2024 Split 1 of the VCT Pacific to start, we can look forward to seeing even more crazy plays from Lightningfast and hope for his continued success.
