The booming Indian esports scene has led to major gaming tournaments attracting top international teams.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) and Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BMIS) are two of the biggest events ever hosted in the country.

India has seen significant growth in its gaming industry, with several tournaments gaining traction. Esports events are getting bigger every year and here's a quick look at some of the biggest gaming tournaments hosted in India.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS)

The BMPS was launched in 2021, quickly becoming one of the biggest esports tournaments in the world. It featured the mobile game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), a variation of PUBG Mobile developed specifically for the Indian market. The first season of BMPS in 2022 offered a massive prize pool of over INR 2 Crores.

Skyesports Championship

The Skyesports Championship is an annual tournament featuring multiple esports titles, giving a wider range of gamers a chance to compete. The first Skyesports Championship was held in 2019 and has grown to be a major event in the Indian esports calendar.

ESL India Premiership

The prize pool for ESL India Premiership varies from season to season and depends on the games featured. Prize pools can range from several lakhs to over one crore INR.

India Gaming Show (IGS)

Prize pools for IGS tournaments also vary depending on the specific games and organizers. Over one lakh in prize money was up for grabs this year.

Dew Arena

Organized by Mountain Dew, Dew Arena is one of the largest gaming tournaments in India, featuring games like Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and more. It offers substantial prize pools and attracts both amateur and professional gamers. The 2019 Dew Arena event offered INR 20 lakhs in prize money.

India League LAN Tournament (BGMI India League)

The iAOO BGMI India League 2024 LAN event was set to be hosted in Delhi with a prize pool of INR 40 Lakhs but the event was cancelled. Despite the cancellation, the prize money was equally distributed among the participating teams with each team receiving INR 2.5 lakhs each.

Skyesports Grand Slam

Similar to the Skyesports Championship, the Skyesports Grand Slam is another high-profile esports tournament circuit featuring multiple esports titles. Held throughout the year, it offers competitive action and a chance for gamers to showcase their skills. Skyesports Grand Slam offered a prize pool of INR 1,50,000.

Valorant Agni Series

The Valorant Agni Series is an open-for-all Valorant tournament organized by NODWIN Gaming. Valorant is a popular tactical shooter game, and the Agni Series provides a platform for Indian Valorant players to compete and climb the ranks.
