Riot Games officially revealed the abilities of Valorant’s newest agent Harbor and he is already being hailed as a strong Controller by fans. The agent has both defensive and offensive capabilities and players will be able to try out the new agent starting 18th October. Harbor gets his powers from being able to control ancient technology and he seems to have full control over the water around him. Here is everything you need to know about Harbor and how he was conceptualized by the developers.

How Riot Games created Valorant’s New Indian agent

Riot Games Narrative Writer Joe Kileen revealed that the developer (dev) team looked at a huge breadth of Indian media and was inspired by the countless tales of mythic heroes from the region. The team wanted to create an agent that seeks to be an unstoppable force for good.

Killeen revealed, “we were inspired again by the many objects of power and mystery that are scattered throughout Indian legends and stories. It was from there that the idea of an ancient Radianite artifact wielder was born. Our relic-seeking adventurer being someone whose mission is to protect and preserve these items of antiquity took form around that.”

Riot also stated that the Valorant team works towards authentic representation from a bunch of simultaneous angles. External consultants were contracted to research on India’s cities, languages, regions, traditions, and other information to incorporate all of it into Harbor’s character.

When it comes to gameplay, here are Harbor’s abilities in Valorant:

  • High Tide (E): EQUIP a wall of water. FIRE sends the water forward along the ground. HOLD FIRE to guide the water in the direction of your crosshair, passing through the world, and spawning a wall along the water’s path. ALT FIRE while bending to stop the water early. Players hit are SLOWED

  • Cove (Q): EQUIP a sphere of shielding water. FIRE to throw. ALT FIRE to underhand throw. Upon impacting the ground, spawn a water shield that blocks bullets.

  • Cascade (C): EQUIP a wave of water. FIRE to send the wave rolling forward and through walls. RE-USE to stop the wave. Players hit are SLOWED.

Reckoning (X): EQUIP the full power of your Artifact. FIRE to summon a geyser pool on the ground. Enemy players in the area are targeted by successive geyser strikes. Players caught within a strike are CONCUSSED.

Here is what you get from Harbor’s agent contract:
