Global Esports (GE) secured a thrilling 2-0 victory over Velocity Gaming (VLT) in a show match organized by Nodwin Gaming. The event served as a prelude to the upcoming VALORANT Challengers 2023: South Asia Split 2 (VCLSA) and featured two prominent teams from the Indian Valorant Esports scene.

The match followed a unique format, with each team selecting a map and the opposing team choosing the side. Haven and Bind were the maps chosen for this high-stakes showdown. In a heartfelt tribute to Karel "Twisten" Ašenbrener, an esports athlete from Team Vitality's Valorant roster who recently passed away, both teams equipped themselves with a shorty pistol for the first pistol round on each map.

Thrilling Showdown: Global Esports Dominates Velocity Gaming in 2-0 Victory

The first map, Haven, saw GE choosing it as their battleground, with VLT defending first. The teams engaged in a closely contested battle, but GE emerged victorious with a score of 13-10. Moving on to the second map, Bind, VLT made their selection. However, it was GE who dominated the game, securing a comfortable 13-5 win. Throughout both maps, Ganesh "SkRossi" Gangadhar showcased exceptional performance, recording 43 kills, 26 deaths, and 9 assists. With an outstanding Average Combat Score (ACS) of 311, SkRossi's contributions were instrumental in GE's triumph.

GE Fighting, comprising Bhavin "HellrangeR" Kotwani, Jayanth "skillZ" Ramesh, Akshay "KappA" Sinkar, Ganesh "SkRossi" Gangadhar, and Abhirup "Lightningfast" Choudhury, represented Global Esports in this fierce clash. Notably, skillZ and SkRossi postponed their journey to Korea, where they were preparing for the Last Chance Qualifier, to participate in this significant show match.

On the other side, Velocity Gaming fielded a lineup consisting of Vibhor "Vibhor" Vaid, Debanjan "DEATHMAKER" Das, Karan "Excali" Mhaswadkar, Sagnik "Hellff" Roy, and Tejas "rite2ace" Sawant. However, fans were disappointed by the absence of Anuj "Amaterasu" Sharma, while Sabyasachi "Antidote" Bose, initially anticipated to play, couldn't participate due to his team's ongoing commitment in Valorant Challengers 2023 (VCL): South Asia Split 2.

The match generated significant anticipation among fans, as it marked a long-awaited clash between these two teams. Given GE's location in the Pacific region and VLT's disbandment, it is unlikely that these organizations will meet again in the near future in this title.
