The Global Esports Federation (GEF) has partnered with London-based esports platform FACEIT to host the Global Esports tour. The GEF has officially confirmed that the first cities that will be hosting the Global Esports Tour are Los Angeles, Riyadh, and Dubai. The partnership between GEF and FACEIT will see players from different countries come together and compete in Hearthstone, PUBG Mobile, CS:GO, and more. The event will kick off in the three aforementioned cities and lead up to the main event for the Global Esports Games (GEG) in Singapore later this year. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming event.

Global Esports Tour 2021 overview

The Global Esports Tour seeks to showcase the world’s esports athletes and players. Teams and individuals from across the world will battle it out with only the best of the best making it to the World Finals in Singapore. The first three cities and events for the Global Esports Tour include:

  • Los Angeles: 27th-28th Sept 2021(Hearthstone)

  • Riyadh: 21st-23rd Oct 2021(PUBG MOBILE)

  • Dubai: 26th-27th Nov 2021(CS:GO)

The event will lead up to the Global Esports Games which will be hosted in Singapore from 17th to 19th Dec 2021.

GEG will be composed of three stages:

  • Stage 1: GEG National / Territory Selection

  • Stage 2: GEG Regional Qualifier Tournaments

  • Stage 3: GEG World Finals Singapore

Chester King, GEF Vice-President and Co-Chair of the Technical, Standards & Properties Commission, said about the partnership, “The Global Esports Federation is proud to work with the team of experts at FACEIT to further develop our strategies for esports across the world. We look forward to staging the Global Esports Tour in great cities around the world.”

Kelvin Tan, GEF Director of Esports said, “With FACEIT providing their expertise in product development, technical expertise, commercial, marketing and distribution, we are committed to continue lifting up the potential for the world’s esports community.”

Global Esports Tour 2021 prize pool

The Global Esports Federation has confirmed a total prize pool of $500,000 USD for the GET. The GEF will match the prize pool with a further $500,000 commitment to the GEF’s Global Social Impact Initiatives (GSII).
