The game will feature lore that is inspired by Indian history and culture.
The title will be free-to-play and no monetization methods have been finalized yet.

India-based gaming company SuperGaming is working on a new battle royale game where you take the role of a Mythwalker. The game is a fresh take on the battle royale genre which is inspired by Indian history, culture, and indo-futurism. The game will focus on the lore and story which is something a lot of battle royales overlook. While games like Apex Legends have deep lore, SuperGaming wants to draw from cultural influences and bring hand-crafted tales from India to a global platform.

Indus’ development commenced in 2020

Indus was conceptualized in 2020 and a team was put together with talent across India joining the team. The team has grown and it features around 150 people and an internally playable version of the game was available on 25th November 2021. The game will be free-to-play and the team is yet to decide on how it will be monetized. It is likely that the game will include purchasable cosmetics and/or a battle pass.

The goal behind building the same was that India has “world-class music, books, and movies but we haven't seen a game that we can label the same! There are no global top-grossing games, no GOTY PC, console, or mobile titles from India."

More gameplay details will be shown over the coming months as the project develops. Currently, the plan is to bring the game to mobile devices as well as PCs and consoles. There is no known release date and there are regular update videos showcasing the progress the development team has made so far.

The game will be playable in first-person perspective (FPP) but a third-person view is also being planned for the future. The game will feature a host of weapons including assault rifles, hand cannons, and snipers. A gameplay video was shown off recently that showcased a burst sniper which is supposed to be the most powerful weapon in the game.

When it comes to the lore of the game, the world of Indus is a mystery featuring floating islands. Indus was home to a race called the Yaksha, which invented jet engines and nuclear power. The Yaksha used Cosmium to tap into the extra-dimensional energy to fulfill their needs and it became the first interstellar civilization. But the entire race was wiped out from the pages of history. This is when the game takes place as players uncover the secrets of the lost civilization.
