Sentinels’ Shahzem 'ShahZam' Khan shared his thoughts on the groups in Valorant Masters Berlin.
He said that he feels bad for Vision Strikers as the team has been put into a very difficult group.
Even if Vision Strikers fails to make it out of the group stage, securing a win at VCT Last Chance Qualifiers will earn the team a slot at Valorant Champions.

Riot Games just announced the groups for Valorant Masters Berlin and not everyone is happy with how the draft was made. Sentinels’ Shahzem 'ShahZam' Khan talked about how “Vision Strikers got screwed” because the Korean team got a really tough group in a double-elimination bracket. The team managed to get the longest winstreak in esports history with a 100-0 record, which it set back in April 2021. Fans were excited to see the team in action against the likes of Sentinels and 100 Thieves, but it is not something that will happen in the group stages of Valorant Masters Berlin.

Vision Strikers gets put into one of the toughest groups at Valorant Masters Berlin

ShahZam pointed out that he wanted to see Vision Strikers (VS) go far in the upcoming tournament but the team will have to make it out of the group stages in order to go head-to-head against the likes of Team Envy, G2 Esports, 100 Thieves, or Sentinels.

If Vision Strikers is unable to make it out of the group stage at Valorant Masters Berlin, Vision Strikers will still have a chance to be a part of Valorant Champions. The team will need to win the APAC Last Chance Qualifiers, and considering the team’s dominance in the Asia-Pacific region, the odds of VS making it to Champions is high.

For Valorant Masters Berlin, the tournament will consist of double-elimination system (GSL format) group play, followed by an eight-team single elimination bracket. Teams were first sorted into four draw pools based on a combination of their respective final placements at Challenger events and the strength of their region.

Each team in each pool was randomly drawn into one of the four groups (Groups A-D). If at any point a team was drawn into a group which already had a team from their region, then they were placed into the next alphabetically sequential group. The only exception to this were teams from EMEA, which as a result of having the most representatives at the tournament, could have two teams drawn into a single group. Vision Strikers would have found itself in an easier group if it came second at the regional Challengers events’ grand finals.

It remains to the seen if Vision Strikers is able to get out of its group of death which also consists of Supermassive Blaze, Acend, and Paper Rex. Valorant Masters Berlin will commence on 10th September and will conclude on 19th September. The event will be broadcasted live from the Verti Music Call in Berlin, Germany at https://www.twitch.tv/valorant.
