Popular Indian esports athlete Tanmay “Scout” Singh and S8UL Esports co-owner recently appeared on a podcast called “Figuring Out,” hosted by Raj Shamani, an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and content creator. In this podcast, Thug and Scout delved into their journey, revealing how they became two of the most prominent names in the Indian gaming landscape. Scout also expressed his respect for S8UL Esports’ co-owner Lokesh “Goldy” Jain and revealed how he met him.

Scout shares the story of how Goldy supported him when he was no one

Scout reflected on his experience in PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 (PMCO 2019) - Spring Split: India, where he finished in second place. “I was one of the most hated players at that time. I was second, and I was sitting in the corner. I performed extremely well. Still, we lost, and I was the only one who was disappointed for coming second. Others were happy that they were second and would get money,” he added.

Scout stated that after coming in as a runner-up, he was disappointed, sitting in a corner and trying to analyze his mistakes. A person, who he did not know at the time, approached, consoled him, talked to him, and took him out for dinner. This person was Goldy, and this random act of kindness from him had a profound impact on Scout. “Everyone believes that Scout listens to no one except one person, and that person is Goldy Bhai. The reason is he walked up to me at a certain place at a certain time when I had no one when I was no one. That person helped me when I wasn’t the current Scout,” he added.

Scout described the situation of PMCO 2019 - Spring Split: India. There were two sides - the winner Team SouL, which had a content creator with over 1 Million subscribers, and the runner-up Team IND (Scout’s team), where Scout had less than 100k subscribers. Scout explained that most people would naturally choose to join the team with the creator, who had over 1 million subscribers, as they were the champions and had a large audience. However, Goldy chose to go against this norm and instead chose to support the creator, who was being hated and not known to the audience. “Goldy Bhai gave his shoulder to that guy. No one can have the respect that I have for him,” he added
