Riot Games teased Sentinels of Light event skins in its Episode 3 video for Valorant.
The FPS is likely to receive Ruination-themed skins later this month as part of a crossover event.
Other titles like Legends of Runeterra, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends are confirmed to receive events centered around the Ruination in the Runeterra universe.

Riot Games promised a Ruination-themed event for each of its games earlier this year as part of its annual announcements, and it is finally time for Valorant to be a part of the Rise of the Sentinels crossover event. The League of Legends universe will merge with Valorant’s for the first time. Agents will be receiving Ruination-themed skins that are designed around the Ruined King and Sentinels’ fight against him to save all of Runeterra. It is unknown if any content aside the skins will be coming to Valorant later this month. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming event.

What to expect from the Sentinels of Light crossover

Riot Games announced that a Sentinels of Light event would be introduced in all of its games including League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift and Valorant. Except for Valorant, all of the other titles fall under the Runeterra universe. In the official lore, the Ruination is a calamity that will affect all of Runeterra unless the Sentinels of Light stop the Ruined King, Viego.

In the Episode 3 Kickoff video for Valorant, Riot Games showed off a skin that is themed after the major lore event and more skins may be headed to the game. Players can spot KAY/O with a Ruination-style Guardian skin in the “It Starts Now” trailer as he absorbs the soul of Reyna, similar to how the Ruined King does in League of Legends.

Riot has officially announced a Ruination event for later this month for Legends of Runeterra with an event pass set to be added to the game on 14th July. Valorant and other titles could be getting their own Ruination-themed events around the same time.

Currently, only one skin has been teased by Riot Games and it is possible that the studio will launch its standard suite of four skins along with a melee weapon like it does with other bundles in-game. Guardian is the only weapon with a confirmed skin so far and it remains to be seen what else is in store for fans who are eagerly waiting for the crossover event.

According to Riot Games, the events will build up to ‘Ruined King: A League of Legends Story’ which is an upcoming RPG that is set to release later this year, featuring six iconic characters like Yasuo, Ahri, Illaoi, Pyke, Braum and Miss Fortune. These characters are set to go take on Viego and stop the Ruination. Other unconfirmed characters may also be featured in the upcoming title.
