Riot Games Partners With PUBG Mobile to Promote the Launch of ‘Arcane’

This is one of the first times Riot Games is bringing the Runeterra universe outside of its own IP's.

Riot Games’ first-ever TV series ‘Arcane’ is set to release later this week and the publisher is partnering with PUBG Mobile to promote the upcoming show. It is one of Riot’s first partnerships that will see the League of Legends’ Runeterra universe outside of a non-Riot IP. The partnership will see Riot introduce characters, items and locations from Runeterra in PUBG Mobile starting with Version 1.7 which will release later this month.

What is League of Legends Arcane?

League of Legends Arcane is Riot’s first TV series that will air on Netflix from 6th Nov 2021. The series is developed and produced by Riot Games in partnership with Fortiche Productions. Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of Vi and Jinx, two of the most recognizable and iconic champions in League of Legends.

The series will be available exclusively on Netflix. Fans can watch it once it launches on 6th November at 7 PM PT.

What to expect from the PUBG Mobile x Arcane Collaboration?

The 1.7 update for PUBG Mobile will be available in mid-November and we have not received any gameplay details about the upcoming collaboration just yet. There will be limited-time cosmetics that can be earned by all players once the update lands and players will have to wait a couple of more weeks until Tencent and Riot Games reveal everything that is coming with the 1.7 update.

Brandon Miao, Cross-Product Experiences and Partnerships Lead, Riot Experience (XP) at Riot Games said that players can expect “an authentic celebration of Arcane” in Erangel. Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing, Tencent Games teased that the publisher has “a lot in store for our players with the Version 1.7 update, including some completely new gameplay features we’ve never experimented with before, so we can’t wait to show off more.”
