Riot Games is revamping its League+ app and rebranding it as Riot Mobile starting 4th Oct 2021.
The new app will offer news updates and content for all of the publisher's titles including League of Legends, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Valorant, and Team Fight Tactics.
Riot has also promised features focused on esports, match history, and player security with the new app.

Riot Games is retiring its League+ and is introducing its brand new ‘Riot Mobile’ app to replace it. League+ was originally launched in 2019 and it served as a mobile companion for Riot’s games. However, with the publisher transitioning into animated series and other products that are outside the world of gaming, Riot Games wants to introduce a new mobile companion that can serve has a hub for all its content. League+ will be rebranded to Riot Mobile and it will undergo stability and performance fixes over the next few months. Existing League+ users will be upgraded to Riot Mobile automatically once it is available in their region starting 4th Oct 2021.

What’s new in Riot Mobile

Starting 4th Oct 2021, League+ will be automatically upgraded to Riot Mobile for all users. Riot Games revealed that the goal of the original app was “to create an experience for players that made it easy to discover new content and activities to engage with, stay informed across all of our titles and events, and connect to other Riot players outside of the game.

Riot Mobile UI

The new app will focus on existing content as well as esports, social features, and personalization. Some of the features that are being added to the app include:

  • Player Profiles

  • Cross-Game & Cross-Region Chat

  • Social Features and Messaging

The app can now offer news on all of Riot’s games including League of Legends, Wild Rift, Valorant, Legends of Runeterra, and Team Fight Tactics. Players will be able to customize their news feed and select the games they want to stay updated on.

Unlike League+ which primarily focused on League of Legends, the multi-game approach in Riot Mobile, will allow players to use a single app for all Riot Games’ updates on games, esports, events, and other content. Riot has promised “significant improvement” to experiences around esports, match history, and player security shortly after Riot Mobile launches.

How to download Riot Mobile

Riot Mobile is not available yet, and it will roll out starting 4th Oct 2021. Players can download League+ on any smartphone or tablet and enable automatic updates. Doing so will automatically update League+ to Riot Mobile once the app is available in your region. If you are already a League+ user, you simply need to wait for an update in your region to access Riot Mobile.
