Riot Games Celebrates Valorant Champions 2022’s APAC Representatives With Regional Event

Riot Games is celebrating Valorant Champions' APAC representatives with multiple social events.
Fans can win merchandise through the event by participating in a photo caption contest.
An official music video for the APAC region is also expected to go live in the near future.

After a year of competition, three teams from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region are locked in for the upcoming Valorant Champions 2022 event. The teams will head into the competition with 13 other teams from other regions in hopes of becoming the second-ever Valorant world champion. The APAC region will see XERXIA, Paper Rex, and Boom Esports represent the region and Riot Games is hosting a special event to celebrate the achievements of the teams so far.

Fans can engage with social content for APAC Champions representatives

Marketing Lead, Esports of Riot Games APAC, Mark Chui said in an official press release, “APAC teams have proven that they should not be underestimated and we are looking forward to seeing them perform at Champions. I hope our fans will join us in cheering these teams on!”

APAC Rising Music Video: To celebrate the APAC representatives, Riot has collaborated with Dharni, a Singaporean beatboxer, to produce an APAC Rising music anthem. The track will be dropping soon on VALORANT’s social channels.

Commissioned Pro-Team Murals: To pay tribute to the skill and passion of APAC teams, Riot Games will be working with leading artists in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia to immortalize their stories in a series of exclusive murals that fans can visit in person. Riot will be working with Sam Lo in Singapore, Piyasak Khiaosa-ard in Thailand, and Ongkogx in Indonesia.

Fans will also have a chance to win copies of these artworks, signed by the pro-teams themselves, by participating in a caption contest that will run from 24th Aug to 9th Sept.

Exclusive APAC Champions Merch: Riot Games will be producing exclusive APAC Champions “swag kits” to commemorate this year’s tournament. Fans can get their hands on custom snapbacks, t-shirts, lanyards, and mousepads through giveaways from participating media outlets in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Road to Champions Docu-Series: Get a behind-the-scenes look into a “day in the life” of two of APAC’s most prominent pro-players, Jing Jie "Jinggg" Wang from Paper Rex and Nutchaphon "sScary" Matarat from Xerxia, as they prepare for one of the biggest tournaments of their careers.

APAC ‘22 Our Story: Gain an insider perspective from the team representatives of Paper Rex, Xerxia and Boom Esports. This is the first time team representatives will be brought together to relive some of the best moments from the year so far, as well as discuss their hopes for Valorant Champions. Discover what it means for these players to be representing the entire region on the global stage.

IRL Paintball Competition: XERXIA has been invited for a scrim to prepare for their journey to VALORANT Champions 2022. However, this shall be no ordinary scrim as XERXIA will take on a group of all-star influencers in a 5v5 IRL (In Real Life) Paintball Competition mimicking all aspects of what is to be expected during champions, be it shoutcasters, coaches, and even tactics.

VALORANT Champions 2022 will take place from 31st August - 18th September in Istanbul, Turkey where XERXIA, Boom Esports, and Paper Rex will be attempting to bring the championship trophy to APAC.
