Riot Games Announces VCT Game Changers Series for Southeast Asia

Riot Games announced the launch of Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Game Changers for the South East Asia region. the event seeks to create new opportunities for marginalized genders within the Valorant community in Southeast Asia. The upcoming event will complement the ongoing Valorant Champions Tour in order to promote diversity in the Valorant community. The event is being hosted in collaboration with FSL, which is a women’s gaming circuit in SEA. The VCT Game Changers series will kick off later this year with a monthly prize pool of $5,000 and a main event prize pool of $25,000. Registrations for the current FSL Open event is open till 24 June.

VCT Game Changers Southeast Asia overview

The VCT Game Changers event which is being hosted in partnership with FSL will feature four stages which include:

FSL Open: a monthly open group stage tournament, from which 8 teams will advance to the playoffs. Teams will earn points and be placed on the FSL Open Leaderboard. The top three ranking teams will qualify for FSL Elite.

FSL Open Overtime: Teams that place 4th to 19th on the leaderboard will compete for three qualifying spots to FSL Elite.

FSL Wildcard: Two teams that failed to reach the FSL Elite event will compete to qualify for FSL Elite.

FSL Elite: The final tournament in October where eight of the top teams in the region will play for a prize pool of US$25,000, with the winning team crowned as the first VCT Game Changers Southeast Asia Champion.

● Playoffs: July 1- 4

FSL Open V:

● Registration: July 6 - 15

● Open Group: July 19 - 21

● Playoffs: July 29 - August 1

FSL Open VI:

● Registration: August 3 - 12

● Open Group: August 16 - 18

● Playoffs: August 26-29

FSL Open Overtime:

• September 2 - 5

FSL Wildcard:

● Registration: September 9 - 19

● Group Stage: September 25 - 26

● Playoffs: October 1-3

Valorant Game Changers SEA eligibility

Here are the eligibility requirements for the upcoming event.

1. Players currently residing in Asia, except Japan, Korea and China, are allowed in this tournament.

2. Only women are allowed in this tournament.

3. No player shall be considered eligible to participate in FSL VALORANT before her 16th birthday, defined as having lived 16 full years.

4. Players must make necessary arrangements to join a group video call when playing the tournament.
