VCT APAC Challengers 1 is set to kick off on 10th March featuring a prize pool of $150,000 USD.
The event will feature 20 of the best teams from South Asia, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Oceania.
The top two teams at the event will get to participate in Valorant Stage 1 Masters in Iceland later this year.

The first Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) regional playoffs for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region is finally here. The VCT APAC Challengers 1 event will feature 20 of the best teams from Southeast Asia, South Asia, Oceania, and Hong Kong that competed in their respective regional qualifier events. Riot Games recently announced that the event will feature a prize pool of $150,000 USD, making it the third-largest Challengers event in terms of prize money after North America and EMEA.

VCT APAC Challengers 1 Overview

The APAC Challengers 1 event will serve as a gateway to the first Valorant Champions Tour global event. The top two teams at the Challengers event will get to represent the APAC region at Masters 1 Iceland in April 2022.

Here are the teams that have qualified for APAC Challengers:

  • Thailand: XERXIA, Made in Thailand, FULL SENSE

  • Philippines: South Built Esports, NAOS Esports, Action PH

  • Indonesia: BOOM Esports, BOY WITH LOVE, ONIC Esports

  • Vietnam: CERBERUS Esports, Fancy United Esports, Team Big BAAM Singapore/Malaysia: Paper Rex, Bleed eSports, NN

  • Taiwan/Hong Kong: Oblivion Force Griffin E-Sports

  • South Asia: Velocity Gaming, Global Esports

  • Oceania: Bonkers

VCT APAC Challengers 1 Format

Play-Ins (Top 20): The event will kick off with the play-ins stage featuring two double-elimination groups with four teams each. The eight low seed teams will compete in GSL groups and only four of them will head to the group stage.

Group Stage (Top 16): There will be four double-elimination groups featuring four teams each. Two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.

Playoffs (Top Eight): Eight teams will compete in double-elimination brackets to make it to the grand final. Both finalists will secure a spot at Stage One Masters but the winner will receive more Valorant Circuit Points and a bigger share of the prize pool.

All matches at the event will be decided in a best-of-three series with the grand final set to be a best-of-five matchup.

VCT Challengers Stage 1 - APAC Finals Playins:

● Date: 10th to 13th March

● Format: Eight teams will play in GSL format. Four successful teams will proceed to the next stage.

VCT Challengers Stage 1 - APAC Finals Groups:

● Date: 16th to 21st March

● Format: 16 teams will play in GSL format. Eight successful teams will proceed to the knockout stage.

VCT Challengers Stage 1 - APAC Finals Knockouts:

● Date: 24th to 27th March

● Format: Eight teams will go through a series of double elimination brackets. The final two teams will be invited to Masters 1 in Iceland.
