PUBG's social media accounts have confirmed a collaboration with South Korean Tottenham Hotspur soccer player Son Heung-Min.
Son is reportedly getting his own skin and other cosmetics that will be added to PUBG according to leaks.
PUBG is yet to officially announce a release date for the collaboration event.

The official PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Twitter account revealed a partnership with Tottenham Hotspur and South Korea soccer star Son Heung-min in June. Following the teasers, leaks have surfaced that showcase skins and other cosmetics that will be added to the popular battle royale. It was reported that there will be some limited-time Song Heung-Min emotes that will be added to the game but PUBG is yet to confirm what’s in store for fans as part of the collaboration. The event could be similar to what Fortnite did with Son’s teammate Harry Kane earlier this year. Here is a look at everything we know so far about the PUBG X Son Heung-Min collaboration event.

Who is Son Heung-Min?

Son Heung-min is a South Korean professional soccer player who represents the country’s national team and plays as a forward at Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League. He was nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2019, which is the most prestigious award in soccer. Son also holds the record for being the only Asian player in history to score more than 50 goals in the Premier League.

His Tottenham teammate, Harry Kane was part of a collaboration with Fortnite and Son might get his own skins or other cosmetics as part of the collaboration with PUBG.

What to expect from the PUBG X Song Heung-Min collaboration event

The official PUBG Twitter account started hyping the collaboration with Song Heung-Min last month. A silhouette of the player was posted with a ‘coming soon’ teaser on it. Earlier today, the official Twitter account confirmed the collaboration with a 'Son is coming" message.

Since initial teasers, more information has been leaked within the community with PlayerIGN sharing the limited-time cosmetics that will be available as part of the collaboration event. It is unknown when the event will take place with PUBG releasing no official information about the upcoming collaboration.

Another leaker RaoN_GosT, shared some alleged media images of the upcoming event and listed the cosmetics that are coming in-game. They include:

  • Clothing Bundle

  • Jersey Bundle

  • Outfit Bundle

  • Weapons Bundle

  • Shirts

  • Shoes

  • Slacks

  • Cleats

  • Son Heung-Min's Heart ceremony emote

  • Son Heung-Min's Photo Op emote

Other content updates in PUBG patch 12.2

In addition to the collaboration event which is yet to be made official, Krafton announced a number of other updates for PUBG. The arrival of Season 12 introduced a complete overhaul of Miramar with visual and quality-of-life changes. The new update also introduced the LYNX AMR weapon which is the game’s first .50 caliber weapon designed to take out vehicles. Players now have access to the new Quad off-road vehicle. PUBG also added two soccer balls in all lobbies to help players spend some time as matches are prepared.
