Psyonix’s ‘Rocket League Sideswipe’ Begins Global Rollout

Rocket League Sideswipe, which is the mobile version of Rocket League, is releasing this month following its announcement back in March 2021. Developer Psyonix has been silent about the mobile title until now and the game is finally available. Oceania is the first region to get access to the title and other regions will be able to play the game by the end of November 2021.

What is Rocket League Sideswipe?

Rocket League Sideswipe is a mobile-only title that seeks to bring Rocket League to mobile users. The game features arcade-style action that is optimized for touch controls. It will come with the option to play private matches and it has a ranked system similar to the original Rocket League. Players will be able to climb through the ranks.

It is a free-to-play title with 1v1 and 2v2 game modes as well as a Hoops mode which resembles basketball. The game is currently in the pre-season and it will lead up to Season 1 with limited-time content. The game is likely to be monetized with cosmetics and battle passes.

Linking your existing Rocket League Epic Games account with Rocket League Sideswipe will reward you with bonus XP. There will be crossover events between Rocket League and Sideswipe with exclusive rewards for players from both games.

When will Rocket League Sideswipe be available in my region?

Rocket League Sideswipe is available in Oceania but specific release dates for other regions are not yet available. Psyonix has stated that the game will be available in all regions by the end of November 2021.
