Polaris' Slaze was suspended for three months from Valorant Game Changers after Riot Games found out that she was involved in account boosting
The player has been banned for three months and will be able to compete again starting 27th December, 2021.
Polaris will be fielding former Serenity Purple player ‘Kxtieoh’ as a replacement.

Controversy surrounded Valorant Champions Tour’s (VCT) Game Changers (GC) event, with pro player ‘Slaze’ being suspended due to account boosting. The player was competing for Polaris, the only team that was not signed to an organization in the ongoing event. According to the suspended player, Riot Games banned her because of account boosting, which is against Valorant’s terms of service. Polaris will be playing with a substitute player “Kxtieoh” for the remainder of the tournament. Kxtieoh was previously competing with Serenity Purple and will be filling in for the suspended player during VCT Game Changers: North America Series 3.

Polaris condems Slaze’s recent actions

Polaris made an official announcement about the recent ban and revealed that. “due to unforseen circumstances, Slaze has been suspended and will not be participating in this weekend's VCT:GC for her account being associated with boosting. All of us at Polaris do not condone or have had any knowledge of these actions outside of our matches and practice.” The player has been banned for 3 months and the ban will be lifted on 27th December, 2021.

An official ruling was posted in the Game Changers Discord. The post which was labeled as “Polaris Player Ruling”, stated that one of the team’s players was banned and that the team was allowed to find a substitute before 2:30 PT of the same day. If it was unable to find a substitute, the slot would have then transferred to 24Haven. Polaris managed to find a substitute and will be competing in VCT Game Changers: North America Series 3 playoffs.

The current roster of Polaris features:

  • Zoe ‘Zoessie’ Servais

  • Katrina ‘Katriggered’ Perez

  • ‘Starlight’

  • ‘lunah’

  • ‘Kxtieoh’ (stand-in)

Polaris qualified for Game Changers Series 3 after going 3-1 in the group stage. The team faced off against CLG Red and secured a win but fell short in the next round against Cloud9 White. The team was knocked into the lower brackets but a win against 24Haven guaranteed the team a slot at the Game Changers Series 3 playoffs. Polaris is the only team that is not signed to an organization in this ongoing event.
