Right before June came to an end, Blizzard dropped a small update for Overwatch 2 on 28th June, Wednesday. It balanced a few heroes and resolved a lot of bugs that were hampering the game's performance and diminishing the overall player experience.
Here are the complete patch notes where heroes like Cassidy, Mei, and Lifeweaver have undergone changes along with plenty of bug fixes for heroes, maps, and the game itself.
Overwatch 2 Patch Notes - 28 June Update: Complete Details
Hero Updates
Cassidy
Magnetic Grenade is one of those hero abilities which has been at the center of many community-wide discussions. It underwent a massive damage reduction at the start of Season 5 but still seems to be quite potent, forcing developers to make it harder for Cassidy players to land this ability.
"Magnetic Grenade will require slightly more demanding aim and intention in its use, especially at longer ranges"
Magnetic Grenade
Seeking Radius Reduced - From 1.5 to 1.3 meters
Homing Duration Reduced - From 1 to 0.75 seconds
Mei
This hero had seen a shift in its usage from having a deadly secondary fire gameplay to a less lethal primary fire character. However, the developers feel like this has negatively impacted Mei and are rebalancing her once again.
"Mei's gameplay was negatively impacted by the trade in damage for more slowing utility. We're shifting some of that power back into her damage."
Endothermic Blaster
Primary Fire Maximum Slow Reduced - From 50% to 40%
Primary Fire DPS Increased - From 55 to 70
Deep Chill (Passive)
Maximum Slow When Effect Active Reduced - From 75% to 65%.
Lifeweaver
Despite being good at healing and helping the team defensively, the hero is really bad at dealing damage, especially from long range from where it generally operates. Keeping this in mind, the developers have buffed Lifeweaver accordingly.
"The changes will enable well-aimed burst fire with the Thorn Volley weapon to be more effective at applying pressure to the enemy team."
Thorn Volley
Projectiles Increased to Reach Maximum Spread - From 0 to 20
Maximum Ammo Increased - From 70 to 80
