Overwatch 2 Illari: First Look

The first look of this hero was released yesterday on 8th August and she seems to wield a weapon that looks like part sword and part rail gun, fueled by the sun's energy. She herself wears armor along with a cape and overall looks very similar to Sojourn.

Overwatch 2 Illari: Expected Abilities

As per what was shown in the trailer, Illari seems to have a healing turret, a movement-based ability that allows her to propel up into the air, and an ultimate where she racks up the power of the sun in her weapon to launch an explosive ball of energy.

Healing Turret

This is a mechanical turret that can be attached to the map geometry and works similarly to Symmetra's Sentry Turret, but instead of dealing continuous damage it provides continuous healing to a single allied hero at a time.

Power Jump

In a burst of movement Illari propels herself vertically upwards, this can be used as an escape or initiatiion ability, important in situations to clutch a round or save your soul.

Captive Sun

Her ultimate ability seems to be an area of effect high-damage skill which can be used in tandem with another ultimate or simply to clear an area like a choke point or solid cover.

Overwatch 2 Illari: Launch Event

The new support hero will have her own set of challenges upon release as part of the launch event, rewarding players with hero-specific rewards upon completing certain pre-requisites like playing with the hero a certain number of times or winning a certain number of matches with her.

This is all the information at hand about Illari, which will be the third support hero being introduced to the game since the launch of Overwatch 2. The community is excited to try her out ever since it was revealed by Aaron Keller (Overwatch 2 Game Director) that the upcoming hero could be slightly overpowered.
