India-based esports organization Orangutan which has a presence in Battlegrounds Mobile India and Free Fire is expanding to Valorant with a new roster. Three players have been announced so far including Prabhdeep “Ghost” Bhatia, Vibhor “Vibhor” Vaid and Zion "Persia" Yang. Two more signings are yet to be announced by Orangutan and they are expected to be revealed in the near future.

Persia brings vast FPS experience to Orangutan’s roster

Orangutan’s new roster is looking very diverse with Ghost being an 18-year-old pro who is bringing in some young blood and potential to the roster while Persia, in contrast, has years of experience competing in Valorant, Apex Legends, and Overwatch. Persia was formerly a part of Boston Uprising and Talon Esports during his time in Overwatch. He moved to SCARZ Korea to play Apex Legends before switching over to Valorant.

After spending some time with TUBEPLE Gaming, he is now joining the Orangutan roster. Persia’s biggest accomplishment in esports is undoubtedly the first place finish he earned with Talon Esports at Overwatch Contenders 2018 Season 2: Pacific. Talon maintained its position consistently as a top-eight team in Contenders Pacific with Persia on the roster. He was later part of Overwatch’s flagship event, the Overwatch League where he did not find much success.

Joining the players is Vibhor, who is a former member of Velocity Gaming (VLT). Vibhor helped VLT reach great heights and his former team was one of the two most dominant Valorant teams in India alongside Global Esports. He also brings tons of experience to the roster and it will be interesting to see how the Orangutan team matches up against the best teams in South Asia at the Skyesports Championship Series.

Orangutan is yet to announce its last two members of the Valorant roster. Once the new roster is ready, it will compete in local and international Valorant events. The team can make it to the next Asia Pacific Challenger event if it can prove itself to be on par with the best in the region.
