Mortal Kombat 1 Unveils Characters at EVO 2023
The Evolution Championship Series (EVO) 2023 is an ongoing, prestigious event that amasses gamers from all walks of life, and connects them with the creators. This championship also features game launches and provides a platform for gaming companies to make big reveals. Amidst this, Mortal Kombat 1, the highly anticipated iteration in the iconic franchise, was also playable for the first time at EVO 2023.
This came forth after the game received constructive feedback from the community, and the developers have happily incorporated it into the game.
Mortal Kombat 1: Gameplay Trailer, New Characters and Much More
The long awaited trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 was unveiled at EVO 2023, sending ripples of excitement among Mortal Kombat enthusiasts. The trailer exhibited cinematic excellence as players witnessed some of the returning characters in the game. The highlight was the speculated announcement of the fan-favorite Reptile, last seen in 2015's Mortal Kombat X.
Fans also got fleeting glimpses of brand new story snippets and stages, elevating the bubbling excitement. Other characters, like Stryker, are also making a return this time, along with Reptile. The beloved Reptile has undergone many changes this time and is no longer a bipedal lizard. This time, Reptile is coming in a new humanoid form and can shapeshift when he wills.
Classic characters like Stryker are also making a comeback this time. Stryker will appear as a Kameo fighter, bringing an air of nostalgia with his classic appearance reminiscent of the Midway-era titles. Previously, some characters, like Mileena, Tanya, and Bi Han, were portrayed as antagonists. However, this time their storylines have been altered to fit the new Mortal Kombat 1.
The action-packed game is set to release on 19th September 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
