Liverpool and Dutch Football Star Virgil van Dijk Becomes Tundra Esports Ambassador

One of the best footballers in the world is making his way into esports. Liverpool FC star and Netherlands’ national football team captain Virgil Van Dijk has become an ambassador for Tundra Esports, a London-based company best known for its Dota 2 and Fortnite rosters. Van Dijk will also become a shareholder of Tundra Esports and will help elevate and grow the organization’s brand whilst providing support and mentorship to the organization's professional esports players.

As part of this collaboration, Van Dijk has also released a music video in collaboration with Tundra ambassador and grime artist P Money.

Tundra Esports announces Virgil Van Dijk’s arrival with “OUTPLAYED” gaming anthem

The announcement of Virgil as Tundra’s new Ambassador and Shareholder, was revealed alongside a music video, “OUTPLAYED” featuring several Tundra Esports players and British Grime artist P Money.

The track claims to be the first official grime gaming song, and was created with the aim of celebrating competitive gaming. OUTPLAYED is purposefully PG-rated for all gamers of any age. The electronic track weaves in iconic gaming references throughout the song.

In a release, Van Dijk stated that the OUTPLAYED track emphasized why he wanted to be involved in helping grow the Tundra Esports organization. “They have built up a tremendous reputation when it comes to player well-being within a winning culture which is something that really resonates with me. I’m excited for the future,” he stated.

Maxim Demin, Owner and Co-Founder of Tundra Esports stated that Van Djik’s insight will be invaluable for Tundra’s players and how the organization will evolve, moving forward.


Tundra Esports’ Dota 2 lineup recently secured a first place finish in the Western European Dota 2 Pro Circuit 2021/22 Tour 3. Its Fortnite roster has also experienced recent success, with Zachariah "Pinq" Siddall winning the Gamers8 2022: Zero Build tournament.

The organization also hosts a FIFA lineup and competed in the FIFAe World Cup 2022.
