In a recent vlog, Ketan “K18” Patel approached S8UL Esports manager Siddhant “Sid” Joshi and asked him questions about the potential return of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in India. Sid revealed that he had heard multiple news about the game’s return but refrained from commenting anything about it before the game actually returns. Later, they discussed how a similar scenario occurred with PUBG Mobile’s return, but the game did not return months after the expected return date.

Sid states that S8UL Esports has decided not to stay dependent on BGMI

K18 has been recently staying in S8UL Esports’ bootcamp, where he also shot his latest vlog. In the vlog, he asked Sid if he had received news from his sources about BGMI’s return. Responding to him, Sid said, “There is a lot of positive news about the game, but I won’t say anything before it actually comes.”

After the PUBG Mobile ban in September 2020, a lot of rumors went viral that the game would return on Diwali, i.e., the first week of November 2020. A lot of fans, as well as creators, believed the rumor and anticipated the game’s return. However, unfortunately, it did not return on the expected date, and it took another eight months before it was released in July 2021. Talking about this, K18 told Sid that there were similar rumors about PUBG Mobile’s return, but it did not work out. Responding to this, Sid said, “Like last time, no one has any accurate news. Then, why be so hopeful.”

K18 asked Sid if the game would return in the same condition it was blocked or if players should expect some changes. In response, Sid revealed that he had heard that the game would return in the same condition. “They (Krafton) are fixing things that caused them problems this time. Then again, the game got banned twice. We can’t say for sure if it will get banned for the third time or not,” said Sid. He added, “This time, we have decided not to stay much dependent on the game in all aspects.”

It is not a surprise that BGMI’s condition in the past couple of months has been dire. However, with all the recent positive news surrounding the game, fans are expecting the game to return soon. Furthermore, multiple creators and influential personalities from the Indian gaming community have claimed that the game will surely return in early 2023. On the other hand, it is important to note that Krafton has not yet officially confirmed anything about the game’s return.
