The next agent in line for Valorant’s social media takeover will be Jett who is set to arrive with a brand-new music video. While the new “Can’t Slow Me Down” music video is not yet out on the Valorant global YouTube channel, Valorant Korea has already pushed it live. The new social media takeover event should offer more insights to players on Jett’s history.
What are Valorant takeover events?
Valorant takeover events are social media campaigns Riot Games uses to promote the game and increase engagement within the Valorant community. In the previous takeover events we saw Killjoy, Sova and Breach take control of the official Valorant social media accounts and give us details on how the fictional characters spend their days.
Jett just received her exclusive music video where we see the agent in action. The new song was created by lIlBOI, GroovyRoom and Mirani. The song fits Jett thematically as she is all about speed, similar to Valorant’s newest agent Neon. The agent is of South Korean descent and Riot Games paid tribute to her roots with the new Korean song.
Jett was the 10th agent to join the Valorant protocol and is one of the youngest members in it. While she is considered toxic due to her lone wolf attitude, she is confident in her abilities and does care about her comrades. Her voicelines in-game suggest that she wants to open up to other agents who fight by her side in the Valorant Protocol but she just doesn’t know how to do it.
Jett was canonically hired by the Valorant Protocol of the Alpha Earth before the events of the DUELISTS cinematic. In the DUALITY cinematic, we got to see agents work as a group for the first time. The Omega Earth Jett on the other hand is the primary antagonist in the game’s lore and it is implied that the explosion caused by her in the game’s launch cinematic led to the events in Valorant we see today.
With the Valorant Takeover kicking off today (15th February), it will be interesting to see how Riot Games builds up the character’s lore over the next few days.
