Esports organization Immortals announced the launch of its new Valorant pro team. The all-women lineup consists of players who are based out of the Great Lakes Region (GLR), which aligns with the organization’s goal of representing the region on the global stage. The team will be competing in the Valorant Game Changers events taking place this year along with other Valorant esports events.

Immortals Valorant Roster Overview

Immortals launched its “Search for the Roster” campaign in 2021 which has finally come to an end. All five players in the new roster hail from the Great Lakes region.

  • Initiator - Sarah “Sarah” Simpson

  • Flex - Jennifer “Jen” Khamdaraphone

  • IGL - Kaylen “Kay” Ruddel, Romulus

  • Duelist - Julia “Julia” Dias, New Bedford

  • Controller - Lydia “Tupperware” Wilson

Valorant is the third esports title by Riot Games that Immortals is investing in. The team already has active rosters in Wild Rift and League of Legends, and it seeks to compete in the Game Changers events in Valorant with its all-female roster.

Valorant Game Changers is a competitive circuit that seeks to complement the flagship Valorant Champions Tour (VCT). The Game Changers event will take place simultaneously alongside VCT throughout 2022. Unlike last year’s iteration of Game Changers, Riot Games has planned a world championship event that will feature the top regional teams in the circuit. Immortals will be looking to make its way to the top of the North American circuit if it wants to make it to the world championship this year.

Jordan Sherman, Immortals CEO said in the official announcement that the organization is “hiring GLR-based coaches and players, hosting various Valorant events and experiences and helping to grow the game overall, both professionally and through amateur and grassroots initiatives."

To mark the launch of the new Valorant team, Immortals players and staff are headed to Chicago for a boot camp, media shoot, and practice for their first tournament on 31st March. Immortals will also be sponsoring the University of Michigan Esports Club's Women's Valorant event on 15th April. The new roster will be seen competing at the Verizon VCT Game Changers Stage 1 Open Qualifier starting this week.
