Hyderabad Hydras’ Head of Esports, Nishant “iFlicks” Murlidharan, recently highlighted the career prospects available in the esports industry. He emphasized that there are plenty of options to choose from in the industry, like coach, analyst, caster, event management, and organizer. Additionally, he stated that everyone does not have to be a professional player to succeed in the esports industry.
iFlicks names career opportunities in esports
iFlicks started his esports career as a professional PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS player. However, to utilize his talent and leverage the exponential growth of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), iFlicks moved on to coach BGMI teams. In April 2022, iFlicks joined the Indian esports organization Hyderabad Hydras as head of esports. Hyderabad Hydras boasts an esports roster in over four titles: BGMI, Pokemon Unite (PU), Clash of Clans (COC), FIFA, and more.
In a recent livestream, a user asked iFlicks to introduce himself. Responding to this, iFlicks briefly introduced his esports career. “I am a PUBG PC professional player who later became a coach for BGMI teams. Now, I currently manage esports teams of BGMI, COC, PU, FIFA, and more. So, I am the Esports Head of an organization named Hyderabad Hydras, which you might be hearing about in the Tier-1 BGMI esports.” he said.
iFLicks explained that there are a lot of career opportunities available in the esports field. To explain this, iFlicks put forth his own example. “I will give my own example. At first, I was a professional player; then I became a manager; I have also worked as a coach; I also do (esports) analysis,” he said. “A good volume of the views on my channel also comes from my analyst content. So, you have plenty of options to pick from,” he added.
iFLicks explained that a career in esports is not restricted to only players, but there are numerous opportunities. “There are a lot of options to start a career in esports. Everyone wants to be a player. You can be a talent manager; you can be an event organizer; you can do casting,” he said. “My Hindi is not great. Still, I do casting. If your voice and word usage are good in Hindi, you can opt for casting. You can also do English casting if you speak English fluently,” he added.
Esports is growing at a rapid pace, and with such growth, the demand for professionals is evident. The industry is expanding in many areas, such as game development, player management, event organization, broadcasting, and more. This expansion has created a high demand for professionals with skills in these areas, as well as for those with knowledge of the gaming industry. As the industry continues to grow, more job opportunities will be available.
